The Racing Experience
Frequently Asked Questions

How difficult is it to drive?
These simulators operate like a real stock car with clutch, gas and brake pedals, steering wheel and a stick shifter. You have a choice of driving automatic or manual transmission. We recommend that you begin with an automatic and move to manual when you are ready.

How safe is it? Can I stop it if I am not comfortable?
The simulator is very safe. A lap belt keeps you in your seat. The car moves forward, backward and side to side and simulates the actual physical feelings that real race drivers feel. Crashes are not dangerous in this simulator. You can stop the motion for the duration of the race anytime by pressing the red STOP button on the dashboard.

What age restrictions/limitations are there to race?
There are no age limits to race.
Racers must be at least 52 inches tall for the driver to be able to reach the pedals, see over the dashboard and operate the simulator.
No state driver's license is needed.

What age restrictions/limitations are there for passengers riding in the Crew seat?
For passengers only, we require they be at least 4 years of age and a minimum of 40 pounds so that the safety harness fits properly.

What weight restrictions are there to occupy the simulators?
Each simulator will accommodate up to 600 pounds. This maximum weight applies to the total combined weight of the both the driver and the passenger riding in the Crew seat.

How long does the racing experience last?
The entire racing experience lasts approximately twenty minutes, starting with the instructional video in the transporter, to the race, to the winner's circle. The actual racing action lasts about seven to eight minutes. For Driver's Club and SRA Members, we have longer, more extensive competition events. For more information, please contact your local Racing Center.

How many laps does a race consist of?
That depends on your racing ability. Click here for Racing Tips.
