Top NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway Racers Meet DALE JARRETT
at Charlotte Grand Opening!

On October 19, the Winston Cup Series points leader, Dale Jarrett mingled with the press, 11 lucky NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway qualifiers and 35 winners from three local radio stations. The qualifying period was cut-throat as the top Charlotte NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway and radio drivers dueled for spots to meet Jarrett.



Each of the 46 Speedway and Radio winners had personal Q&A time with Jarrett, who is among the NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway Team of Drivers. Jarrett discussed his Winston Cup championship bid and offered steering and passing hints for racing on the simulated track. Each winner took home a personalized photo with Dale Jarrett, which was signed by the driver.

The top NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway drivers logged impressive lap times ranging from 29.20 to 29.39 on Lowe's Motors Speedway. These convincing lap times prove that the Charlotte site, while one of the newest, is a legitimate contender for the 1999 NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway Cup, now underway.




Jarrett appreciates the skill of the NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway competitors, "It's the closest thing to real racing there is, it's really hard to drive these cars. I remember the first time I tried it. I was amazed."
