Bloomington, MN - Twelve time Winston Cup race winner and 1999 Rookie of the Year, Tony Stewart, will visit the Mall of America NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway Tuesday, July 2. The visit is part of a two-day stop that includes various appearances and a special guest race at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI.

Tony is no stranger to NSMS simulator racing. He has made several appearances at NSMS stores over the past two years and even participated in a weekly league at the Concord, NC location. According to fellow league racers, Tony is very competitive and enjoys racing the simulators.

Thirty-three race fans will have the opportunity to actually race against Stewart at the Mall of America NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway. Eleven drivers will earn a chance by competing and placing first in one of the specially designated, nightly feature races between June 10 and 30. The second group of 11 will be randomly chosen from all racers who finish in the top five in any regularly scheduled race between June 10 and 30. The final 11 drivers will be selected at random from guests who buy any Tony Stewart apparel item from the Winner's Shop.

"The 33 race fans will get a chance to meet and talk with Tony Stewart before their race", comments General Manager, Steve Schneeberger. "Those not competing in the races can watch from the grandstand area." Schneeberger adds, "Due to time constraints, Tony will not be signing autographs during his visit."
