Burns Runs Away From The Field

Source: NSMS

Lynn Burns, with a little help from teammate Ann McIntosh, won the Atlanta 500 at the NASCAR Speedway at the Mall of Georgia on Sunday in runaway fashion. Lynn and Ann teamed up for the entire race, and by race end, had almost put the rest of the field a lap down. It was a most spectacular display of teamwork by the two.

Greg Lewis, who finished 3rd, teamed up with Billy Calloway in this grueling 500 mile race but could not keep up with the dynamic duo. Greg and Billy were within passing range by the 2 leaders about lap 200, but as the group came up upon a pack of drone cars, Ann and Lynn got outta line and Greg and Billy were able to get some of the ground back that they had lost. At that point, they were 26 seconds behind the leaders. They finished the race 15 seconds back.

Richard and James Graham finished the race 2 laps down, while Mike Norman finished 5 laps down.

Lynn will be trying for 2 in a row when he competes in the Lowe's 500 on May 12th.
